Keep a close eye on your hot water heater.
Hot water heaters need periodic flushing to prolong their life and provide steady amounts of hot water. Here is how you do it; Hook up a garden hose to the bottom drain valve. Place the garden hose in a position to allow full discharge of the water through the hose down your driveway. Open the drain valve wide open. DO NOT CLOSE OFF THE INCOMING COLD WATER SUPPLY TO THE HEATER. You will need to run the water out of the hose until the water turns clear. Once the water turns clear shut off the drain valve and remove the garden hose. Because of our hard water it is recommended you flush your hot water heater twice a year.
